Our Mission

The FLOW (For Lives of Women) Foundation is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization and resource center for domestic violence awareness and prevention,

whose purpose is to help save lives of women.

Our mission is to educate, empower and assist women and children of domestic violence, including emotional, economic, sexual, and physical abuse.
We assist with securing emergency and transitional housing, emotional support, and a diversified continuum of services focused on safety, empowerment, and self-sufficiency.
Through community partnerships, FLOW seeks to raise awareness, provide services, and educate community members about domestic violence, in efforts to reduce its effects.

All of our services and programs are offered free of charge.

Donations and contributions are welcomed and greatly appreciated to help

us continue to save lives of women.

BACKGROUND

The FLOW Foundation was founded in 2019, 12 years after the founder’s own sister was shot and killed by an ex-boyfriend, in a murder-suicide. Kleo Barrett was a vibrant and loving 27 year old sister, daughter and friend to many, whose life was tragically cut short at the hands of a man who claimed to love her. She was an outstanding citizen of Chicago who loved to give back to her community and help others…

And that is what this organization intends to do — help others. Help others who have been victims of domestic violence; help family members who have lost loved ones to domestic violence; help others get out of violent relationships and help others become more aware of the warning signs and silent cries for help, and ultimately help prevent domestic violence!
