- Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women — more than car accidents, muggings and illnesses combined.
- 10 MILLION children are exposed to domestic violence every year.
- A woman is 70 TIMES more likely to be murdered in the few weeks after leaving her abusive partner than at any other time in the relationship.
- Last year over 50,000 women were killed by a domestic or intimate partner, that’s 58% of the 87,000 female homicides. Most of these killings did not happen suddenly, but over a continued pattern of violence.
- In the year 2019 there were 1.32 million domestic abuse related incidents REPORTED, with 750,000 criminal arrests, with the vast majority of those cases ending with a dismissal of ALL charges. THAT IS A PROBLEM.
